August 2026 marked a quiet but historic milestone: PIP-55 activated at block 8,000,000, cutting the block reward from 1.0 PAC to 0.5 PAC — the first ever halving on the Pactus network.
Two things defined July: a new software release and a protocol upgrade that changes how new PAC tokens enter circulation. Both were planned, both went smoothly.
June was an active month. A major release landed, the network dealt with a real protocol-level vulnerability and recovered cleanly, and a new proposal put the long-term reward economics of the chain up for community discussion.
May was a lighter month for Pactus in terms of releases, and that is okay. The work of April was substantial. Sometimes consolidation is the move. Meanwhile, the L1 world wrestled with its biggest technical overhauls in years.
An overview of how Pactus handles protocol upgrades in a coordinated way without chain splits or hard forks.
Delegation is here. Tallinn is live. April was defined by one of the most requested features in Pactus history: Validator Delegation, and an open door for new participants to join the network.
Two major things defined March: a deep technical look at where Pactus is heading with smart contracts, and the community testing cycle for v1.13.0 (Tallinn).
February brought a significant update to Pactus with the release of v1.12.0 (Zürich), introducing remote node management capabilities that make running validators more accessible than ever.
As we step into 2026, Pactus celebrates two full years of proving that blockchain can be different. Two years of unwavering commitment to simplicity, efficiency, and true decentralization.
As we close out 2025, we celebrate a remarkable year for Pactus, featuring technical evolutions like the Jakarta, Lisbon, and Casablanca releases, community-driven governance with PIP-43, and significant ecosystem expansion.
