What Happened in August

August 2026 wasn’t all that busy for Pactus. What did happen was worth noting though: PIP-55 activated at block 8,000,000, cutting the block reward from 1.0 PAC to 0.5 PAC per block, the network’s first ever halving. A quiet, clean, automatic milestone.

Contrary to this month, August has historically been one of the busiest months on the Pactus calendar. Take a look.

August In Review

August 1, 2023 Pactus published the Story of Testnet-1, the first real test of the network outside a lab environment.

August 22, 2025 The community voted to pass PIP-43, splitting block rewards 70 percent to validators and 30 percent to the Pactus Foundation.

The vote pushed the network’s reward sustainability out from 6 years to 10, and by the end of that same month, the network had crossed 4,500 active validators.

The 70/30 split from 2025 is still running today. It is the same foundation PIP-55 was built on top of this year, when the halving activated at block 8,000,000.

PIP-55: The First Halving

Activated August 2026, at block 8,000,000. The Pactus network’s first halving went live automatically, with no chain split and no interruption. Under PIP-55, the block reward schedule is:

PAC Now Listed on Cexius

Pactus (PAC) is now live for trading on Cexius. Deposits, withdrawals, and trading are all active under the PAC/USDT pair. This gives the community one more place to access PAC.
