March in Review

Two major things defined March: a deep technical look at where Pactus is heading with smart contracts, and the community testing cycle for v1.13.0 (Tallinn).

The Pactus Vision

On March 19, the team published one of the most important technical articles in Pactus history: Sandbox dApps on Pactus.

This post answers one of the most frequently asked questions in the community: What is Pactus’s plan for smart contracts?

The short answer: Pactus is not copying Ethereum, and that is a very deliberate decision.

Rather than adopting the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) with all its known complexity and inefficiency, Pactus is introducing a completely different approach “Sandbox dApps.”

This design solves one of the biggest problems in blockchain today: storage costs. Instead of every node in the network storing every application’s data permanently and expensively.

Network Health

The Pactus network continues to operate smoothly and grow steadily.

Tallinn (v1.13.0) was officially released on April 4, 2026. If you have not upgraded yet, now is the time. Download it here.

18.5 million+ transactions have now been processed since mainnet launch on January 24, 2024. Each one represents a real person choosing to trust and use Pactus.

Block times remain consistent. No outages. No emergency patches Just steady, reliable infrastructure doing exactly what it was built to do.

How You Can Help Right Now

Pactus is only as strong as the people behind it. Here is how you can make a difference right now:

Upgrade to Tallinn. If you are running any version older than v1.13.0, upgrade immediately. This is a protocol upgrade — staying on an older version means falling out of sync with the rest of the network.

Run a validator. Every node matters. Every PAC staked strengthens decentralization.

Read and share the Sandbox dApps article. Understanding where Pactus is going helps you explain it to others and helps the project grow.

Join the conversation. Discord, Telegram, X/Twitter, GitHub wherever you are comfortable, show up. Share ideas. Ask questions. Help newcomers find their footing.

Report issues. If you encounter bugs, unexpected behavior, or anything that seems off, report it. That is how good software gets built.
